The Ministerial Education Fund helps recruit and train outstanding men and women for the United Methodist Church clergy. The fund provides financial assistance for theological study, supports 13 United Methodist seminaries in the U. S. and helps underwrite the cost of continuing education programs offered by individual conferences. The fund not only helps keep tuition low at United Methodist seminaries, it eases some of the financial burden for new clergy.
According to the Office of Conference Ministries, the average seminary graduate leaves school with more than $30,000 in student loan debt, an enormous burden for new clergy with entry-level salaries. Gifts to the Ministerial Education Fund are investments in the in the future of our denomination.
